Commission scolaire francophone du Nunavut list of eligible voters

The Commission scolaire francophone du Nunavut (CSFN) wishes to establish a list of voters for upcoming CFSN elections held on October 28, 2019.

The CSFN’s jurisdiction extends to all communities within Nunavut, meaning eligible voters may live outside of Iqaluit.

Those eligible to vote in the CSFN Election must be:

  • 18 years old or older on Election Day.
  • A resident of Nunavut for at least one year on Election Day.
  • Meet one of the criteria found in article 23 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms:
    • Your native language is French (the first language learned and still understood).
    • You received your elementary level education in a French-language education institution in Canada.
    • You are the parent (guardian) of a child who has received or receives their education at the elementary or secondary level in a French-language education institution in Canada.

Nunavummiut who register to vote in the CSFN election are not eligible to vote for their local District Education Authority.
