Environmental tests in Iqaluit

The Department of Environment is collecting soil and water samples in the lower base area of Iqaluit from August 16-26, 2016. This is an ongoing program across the territory, to check for possible historical contamination.

This work involves digging 1.5 to 2-metre deep holes and children should keep away from the work sites. The holes will be refilled each day to reduce risks of accident.

The department apologizes in advance for any noise or congestion that this work may cause.
